Step by step

How to make business cards

  1. Pick a card design

Choose a template at 3.5 x 2 inches, then keep the landscape format or switch to portrait before arranging your details.

  2. Add your details and logo

Add your name, title, phone, email and website, upload a PNG, JPG or WebP logo, and set the colors and fonts for your card.

  3. Design the back

Use the back for opening hours, appointment details or a short message, or leave it blank for a single-sided card.

  4. Print the sheet

Download the PDF and print a test at 100% scale, checking the cut positions and matching every back to its front before printing two-sided cards.

Printing on Avery 5371 and 8371 sheets

Choose the 3.5 x 2 inch landscape layout for the ten-card grid used by Avery 5371 and 8371, then print at 100% or Actual size with Fit to page disabled. Test on plain paper against your card sheet before loading the stock, or use cut lines to trim cards from plain cardstock that your printer supports.

Check front and back positions before printing

The PDF places a sheet of fronts before a sheet of backs in the same slot order, but does not reverse the back positions for duplex printing. Different people can therefore receive mismatched backs when a sheet is flipped; use single-sided cards or matching inserts placed back to back until you have verified every position on a test sheet.

A card for every person on the list

Paste names or import a CSV to give each team member a card with the same layout and their own details, while group colors can distinguish departments or offices. Each person fills one sheet position, so list your details ten times for ten copies of your own card, and preview long names before exporting.

Business card questions

Is the business card maker free?

Your PDF sheets and PNG downloads contain only your design, without a watermark or added credit line. Add your own logo, choose your badge size and print a complete set for up to 500 people at no cost.

What size is a business card?

In the United States and Canada, 3.5 x 2 inches, which is the size this maker uses by default. The portrait option is the same card turned upright at 2 x 3.5 inches. European cards are usually 85 x 55 mm, slightly narrower and taller; the editor accepts a custom size in inches, so 3.35 x 2.17 is a close match.

Which Avery business card sheets do these templates fit?

Any 10-up 3.5 x 2 inch sheet, which includes Avery 5371 for laser printers and Avery 8371 for inkjet, along with the clean-edge and matching store-brand equivalents. The PDF lays cards on the standard 2 by 5 grid with 0.75 inch side margins and a 0.5 inch top margin. Print the alignment test page first if you are unsure about your printer.

Can I print on both sides?

You can edit both sides and export front and back sheets, but the back positions are not reversed for duplex printing. Check every card position on a test sheet before printing a batch, especially when each card belongs to a different person.

Do my logo and contact details get uploaded?

No, the editor runs in your browser, and your logo, name and contact details are drawn there and written straight into the PDF. Nothing is sent to a server, there is no account to create, and the design is saved only in this browser so you can come back to it. Clearing site data removes it.

How do I print ten copies of my own card?

Each slot on the sheet prints one person from your list, so add your own name ten times in the People panel and the page fills with ten identical cards. Pasting names is the quickest way: type the same line ten times, one per row. For several sheets, repeat it as many times as you need, since the export continues onto new pages after the tenth card.

Can I make cards for a whole team at once?

Paste or import the list of people, and each card fills in from their row. Export gives you sheets covering everyone in the list, in list order, so a team of thirty prints as three sheets of ten. Give each department a group color if you want the cards to differ by team while keeping one layout.
