Layout advice for badges people can read from across a room

Brand it and style the text
Upload your logo under Logo, pick fonts and colors, and turn on auto-fit for the name line so long names stay inside the edges.
Add people and their groups
Type or paste up to 500 people as Name, Title, Company, Group. Give each group, such as Speaker or Staff, its own accent color and label.
Check the preview, then export
Step through each person, open the sheet preview, and export a PDF with cut lines. Print the alignment test sheet first if you're using label stock.

Can I add my company logo to badges made with the free maker?
Open the Logo panel, upload a PNG, JPG or WebP file up to 8 MB, then drag and resize it on the badge. SVG files aren't accepted, so export a vector logo as a PNG first, at least 600 pixels wide for a logo about 2 inches across. The file stays in your browser, and the same logo appears on every badge.
What does the badge maker do with a very long name like Alexandria Montgomery-Whitfield?
Turn on auto-fit for the name text and the font shrinks until the name fits the badge width, so it never runs off the edge. Check the longest names in preview: if the letters get too small, put the first name on its own large line with {{first}} and show the full name smaller below it. Each field holds up to 120 characters.

Can Speaker, Staff and Attendee badges share one design but use different colors?
Put each person's role in the Group field, and every distinct value gets its own accent color on the parts of the template that follow the group, such as a footer strip. You can also override the printed label, for example showing ALL ACCESS for the Staff group. Custom colors for more than three groups arrive with Pro, not yet available.
Where is my badge design saved if I close the browser tab?
The design autosaves in the browser you used, on that device, and comes back when you return to the maker there. There are no accounts or cloud copies, so opening the maker on another computer or in a different browser starts fresh, and clearing site data removes the saved design. Finish and export on the same machine when you can.
Can this maker produce magnetic, engraved or plastic name badges?
It makes printable badges: paper or cardstock inserts for holders, and adhesive name badges like Avery 5395. Engraved and magnetic badges come from a badge supplier, and you can export a PNG here to show them the look you want. For plastic, inkjet PVC cards or an ID card printer work at home, and printed plastic card orders are not available here.
