Add certification or screening information only after the responsible organization has verified it and approved its display. A printed badge does not confirm completion or validity, so field staff should use the official records for eligibility decisions.
Keeping a coach badge readable from preseason to playoffs

How to make coach badges
Open Coach Badge at 4 x 3
Choose the Coach Badge template, keep the 4 x 3 size, and add your club crest in the Logo panel. Set the coach name in Oswald or Bebas Neue for a bold look that reads well at a distance.
Paste each coach with age group and team
Paste one coach per line as Name, Title, Company, Group, using Title for the age group, Company for the team and Group for the role, as in: Dana Ruiz, U12 Girls, Riverside FC, Head Coach.
Split head coaches and assistants by color
Head Coach and Assistant Coach each get their own accent color from the Group column. Use the label override to print ASST COACH if the full word crowds the strip.
Print before the coaches meeting
Print the alignment test sheet, then the PDF with cut lines on cardstock. Bundle badges by team and hand them out at the preseason coaches meeting.
Questions about coach badges
How many coach badges should each youth team receive?
Print one for each adult your league or tournament allows in the team area, and no more. Bench limits differ by sport, age group and event, so check the rules or ask the tournament director before printing. Printing exactly the allowed number, with names on every badge, keeps extra parents from ending up on the sideline with something that looks official.
Why give head coaches and assistant coaches different colored badges?
Officials and marshals often need the head coach specifically, for example to sign a game card, settle a roster question or talk about bench behavior. A different color and a clear HEAD COACH strip let them find the right adult without asking around. Assistants still show their name and team, so every adult on the bench stays identifiable.
Can a coach badge say a coach passed a background check?
Only print that if your league has verified it for that coach and wants it shown. A homemade badge isn't proof of screening, and a claim that turns out to be wrong could mislead parents. Ask your league how coaches should carry proof of certifications or screening, and otherwise leave those claims off the printed badge entirely.
Where should a coach wear the badge while a game is underway?
Clip it to a belt loop or waistband, or tuck the lanyard inside a jacket, so it stays out of the way when you kneel, demonstrate a skill or walk the sideline. If you do keep a lanyard on, pick a breakaway style. Keep the badge easy to pull out, since a marshal may ask to see it when you enter the team area.
How do I make coach badges for every team in a large club?
Build a coach roster with Name, Team, Age Group and Role columns, then save it as CSV for the free importer. Match Team to company, Age Group to title and Role to group, sorting by team first to keep each club’s badges together.
Will our club's coach badges work at a tournament another club is hosting?
Maybe not. Host tournaments often issue their own coach passes or check coaches against rosters at check-in, and your club badge may not be accepted in place of those.
